Word: Converting Tables

Hello Friends!

Today’s tip is about converting tables to text. Sometimes when you copy templates, especially in the case of resumés, they will have tables embedded in them. Here is how to convert them to just text.

To start, click anywhere in the table area. You will see a square (Arrow 1, below) with a cross with arrows on all 4 points inside it. Click on that little square to select the table. Then mouse over and click the Layout tab (Arrow 2) . Next, you will click on “Convert to Text” (Arrow 3).

When you click the “Convert to Text” button, Word will give you some options on how you want your text separated. I selected tabs. Click “Ok.”

Here’s a heads-up for you though. Your text won’t line up perfectly, so you’ll have to reset them. I’ll have a post on that too, soon.
